The Aspen Institute and the McNulty Foundation announced that Vital Voices Central America, Maria Pacheco and Alexandra Kissling, have been named a 2019 Laureate for the John P. McNulty Prize. The McNulty Prize celebrates the boldness and impact of individuals who are using their exceptional leadership abilities, entrepreneurial spirit and expertise to address the world’s toughest challenges.

Since it began working in 2008, Vital Voices Central America:
- Has impacted over 100,000 women and girls, created awareness, and promoted change at all levels of leadership in the region.
- Instituted more than 100 local programs across Central America, partnering with government agencies, civil society, and international funds.
- Expanded to 6 countries including Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
